Donate now to support Rei Kōtuku to care for seriously ill and bereaved tamariki

Please consider donating to Rei Kōtuku to ensure specialised paediatric palliative care services can be provided wherever seriously ill and bereaved tamariki and rangatahi live.

Fund our salaries and travel expenses:

We are a small team, and all donations go directly into ensuring our specialist clinicians can do their mahi. That includes covering their salaries and their travel expenses to reach the children and young people who need their specialised support – even those in rural areas, who are currently the least served – allowing us to build relationships with wider whānau and their communities. We would also like to increase our capacity to add Māori liaison and more clinicians with therapeutic skills such as art or play therapy.

$100,000

covers the salary of one highly trained clinician.

Fund our
bereavement services:

We are looking for specific funds to employ someone to provide psychological support to tamariki themselves, their siblings and young friends who are grieving.

$100,000

covers the salary of one highly trained therapist.

Fund for funerals:

It is utterly heartbreaking, and completely wrong, when whānau cannot afford to bury their child. We want to be able to cover the basic funeral experiences for a family who are suddenly faced with this expense, even in the depths of their grief.

$5,000

covers a basic funeral for a child.

Fund necessary extras for whānau:

We need funds to buy cots for babies who are dying, petrol for whānau to travel where they need to go to be alongside their seriously ill children. We are also looking for funds to ensure tamariki and their whānau can have fun to make treasured memories.

$5,000

covers the basic necessaries of a family, or a trip away with their child and siblings.

Fund for grief resources and other supplies:

Funds are also required to cover grief and loss resources such as children’s books to help children cope with grief, peer support, art supplies for art therapy, and ongoing bereavement support if the whānau require it.

$100

covers some grief books and art therapy supplies for a child.

Fund for practical support:

Whānau caring for a child who is seriously unwell often struggle financially so this fund will go towards petrol vouchers, grocery vouchers, parking or anything that they need.

$25

covers practical support.

However, any amount you can spare will make a huge different for a family that is taking their toughest journey.

Please donate to Rei Kōtuku now. As a charitable trust, all donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for donating!
